God, after the hundreds of hours of enjoyment Crusader 1 brought me, this game is such a disappointment. My hardware is fine, if it can play hundreds of games just fine, even ones that are more GPU and CPU intensive, then why the ♥♥♥♥ would my computer be to blame? It's great and all to hear "This issue is on your end, fine with me" but that's pointless. I have 200GB of free space on my SSD, 2.5TB free space on my HDD. If that isn´t the problem try reinstalling the game and don´t forget to restart your PC after installing - some steam games act weird if you don´t do that. My Stronhold Crusader 2 is also on an SSD and it loads withing seconds. If you have >2GB free space your SSD will slow down extremely. I saw one other person complain of unreasonably severe load times like that, but they later said they'd installed new gpu drivers wrong or something and it seemed to be fixed. At any rate, it hasn't been too much bother for me so I haven't worried about it. installed (I swear every game installs another one, sometimes doubles, lol) and I should clean some of those out (they aren't removed when I delete a game). Or there's too many darn Microsoft C++ distr. Or there's a small driver conflict somewhere. Or maybe I do too many other things inbetween. I'm assuming that for some reason the game isn't, for me, upon Exit, saving memory in some fashion, so when I start again, it re-loads everything from scratch again. lol.Īnyway, after that, for the rest of the play session (eg, I don't hard-Exit the game) all subsequent loading is pretty fast, whether a new Skirmish or a Trails mission I haven't played before. If I stare at the loading bar it can feel longer, of course. But not 5 minutes - usually more like 30-45 seconds. I don't have super long map load times or loading freezes, but when I first start the game, the first map or save I load usually takes a little while to load.
